My first album! As a young teen in the early '60s, desperately trying to ignore the influence of the '50's (basically my parent's tastes) and find my own way, the advent of the Stones and Beatles and the whole 'first wave' of Brit Pop was my major love.Ê However, there was no denying that the vocal talent of the Big 'O' was, as I now understand it, awesome as well as the fact that unlike most of his contempories, he wrote many of is own songs. I rediscovered him, thanks to 'The Travelling Willburys' and all I can say is such a talent, such a loss.
