David Axelrod started out as a producer and arranger, primarily in the Soul and Jazz fields. Axelrod was one of the first recording artists to fuse elements of jazz, rock and R&B and his music coined the term 'Jazz-Fusion. This album, based on the works of the English Poet, William Blake, is a prime example. Probably his most popular as well as successful albums, it is a complex orchestral work and one which I still play today together with the sister album 'Song of Experience' (albeit on CD - sorry)
