WHO OR WHAT IS MK VINYLS?
I’m Mike and after years building a vinyl collection, primarily of 60’s and 70’s albums and the odd 80’s, and while I still have the vague mental capacity to do so, I have decided to put them on the market.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain classic albums from a private collection, very carefully looked after over the last 60+ years. Put together over the period 1962 to 1984, this collection of over 650 vinyl albums (and a few 45rpm 'singles') represents a life of loving music of all genres from classical to heavy metal. These are not 'pre-loved', they are 'still-loved'; lovingly cared for, each vinyl is a ‘one-off’ and quite a few are collector’s items, hard to find, very rare, absolute rubbish...
Why now? Good a time as any! Why am I doing this myself rather than sell to some vinyl dealer? Sorry, but I would have thought that was bleedin' obvious and anyway it's a bit of fun and something to do in my old age. It's also a good place to have a rant about some (by no means all) modern music and to give my ill-considered, unwanted and often innacurate views and remembrances of the music I own and love.
To whom am I aiming? I have no idea but let’s just say that if you’re reading this, whoever and wherever you are, you are probably a vinyl junky of some sort. This is a ‘Personal’ web site, designed, written and photographed by myself. So any mistakes, innacuracies are entirely 'mea culpa' and for which I also take no responsibility.... if anyone finds any mistakes keep them to yourself.
So my apologies if the album photos are not as good as the professional sites (I notice after taking photos that many albums have some dust on but they will be cleaned before posting) but I hope they are representative of the vinyls for sale here; however, if in doubt or you want additional information (maybe matrix details, etc.) feel free to contact me.
Unlike many sites, each sleeve and album has been photographed from each side as have most of the gatefold inners and album inserts (e.g. Lyric Sheets, Posters, Photos, etc.). Most are in very good condition although quite a number of album covers have fading on the spines.
Caveat Emptor: If you happen to be a fan of Ed Shearboredom, Lady Blah Blah or Tedious Taylor, then apart from one or two albums this site is probably not for you... but feel free to browse :-)
Please note that all comments and descriptions are my own personal views and may not reflect those of the artist, record companies, fans or rest of known universe.
So…
Welcome to my world!

Sorry but I have to admit it, I was never a great fan of Punk Rock. Yes, I did like some of the music, particularly Magazine, The Jam, The Ramones...

Magnificent Moodys or Brilliant Barclays?
This post is aimed at settling a 50 year+ old argument.... well to my mind anyways; everybody else (get it?) probably thinks it was settled years ago and falls into...

PROGRESS?
Not sure why I put this section in as no one seems to read it anyway.... so really it's just to enhance my damaged ego. Here's a previous notice which is now out of date:
MK Vinyls is live! (which is more than can be said of Me). Nearly 500 albums in the collection are now on sale but all the vinyls have now been catalogued and 'Il Magnifico' is still busily writing more short descriptions and taking (even more mediocre) photographs. In the meantime feel free to read his 'Vlogs' - the mindless ramblings of an addled mind as one critic put it (family, who'd have 'em?)
Competition time: coming not so soon(ish),.... actually probably not at all at the rate I work.
FURTHER PROGRESS.....
And here's another one which is not as out of date but certanly not up to date and certainly not worth taking any notice of..... (load of bollocks really):
Mike is still busily (more like 'sporadically') writing short descriptions and taking (crap) photographs. Selection of what gets included next is fairly random; maybe I should just do it in alphabetical order..... then again, it's my site, I'll do what I @%!£*** well like. Also there is still an element of not wanting to part with them.... sad really.
In the meantime continue to ignore his 'Vlogs' - the mindless ramblings of an addled mind as now many critics have put it (seems my circle of family and friends is bigger than I thought)..
...AND FINALLY
All done, well as far as albums are concerned. All my albums are now uploaded ready for sale; a sad and historic moment for myself and humanity in general.
